You can find all information here!

Beginner lectures

So that you don't have to jump in at the deep end when starting your studies, 4-week preliminary courses for first-year students are held every year in September. These preliminary courses smooth the transition from school to university mathematics. Participation is also recommended for lateral or returning students, because you get a real preview of the mathematical way of thinking in your studies.

Student life

You are guaranteed not to get bored outside of the lectures either! With over 43,000 students in 20 faculties, the RUB is one of the largest universities in Germany. University sports, the university's own fitness studio, the botanical garden, as well as activities for those interested in art, culture, and music make for a colorful student life. On long university days you are well looked after on campus with the canteen, the café-restaurant Q-West or a quiet spot in the library.

Who works a lot can also party a lot: the student councils of the various faculties regularly organize parties where you can get to know people from other study programs. Keep yourself up to date about planned activities of your student council on the website of the student council for mathematics and computer science!

Another highlight is the popular RUB Summer Festival, which transforms the campus into a huge festival area.

The feel-good factor does not end at the campus boundaries: With lovely people to get to know, green parks to soak up the sun, an engaging culture, diverse shopping opportunities, a wide variety of sports clubs and a lively nightlife district, the legendary Bermuda3eck, with a diverse restaurant, pub and club scene, Bochum has everything you need for an excellent study time with great encounters.
