Mathematics as a third teaching subject

Students and graduates of the Master of Education can obtain a teaching qualification in a third subject in the teaching profession at high schools ("Gymnasium" and "Gesamtschule") via extension studies. The extension studies, with a scope of 97-100 CP, are a full-fledged study of a third subject.

With the choice of the subject Mathematics, one's own teaching portfolio can be expanded by a major subject with very good hiring prospects and high quantitative importance for schools. The choice of a third subject in Mathematics is recommended, in addition to students who wish to have more flexibility in their perspective, for all those who have only really discovered their passion for the subject in the course of their studies.

For the subject Mathematics, the courses to be attended can be found in the examination regulations for the extension studies in the subject-specific regulations. Enrollment in the extension studies in mathematics is always possible in the winter semester. For optimal planning, it is recommended to visit the Student Advisory Service Mathematics already in the bachelor's phase.
