Service Center Mathematics and Applications

The SZMA was founded in 2007 as a unit within the Faculty of Mathematics and has been bundling all activities related to mathematics courses for other faculties since the summer semester of 2007. This includes not only the creation and implementation of mathematics lectures and exercises, but also the assurance and further improvement of the quality of teaching through the training of teaching staff. For example, new tutors are prepared for their tasks in two-day block courses. Theoretical parts of university didactics are supplemented by practical exercises.

Furthermore, the Service Center offers consulting services in the field of statistics and mathematical software for students, scientists and non-university interested parties.

The SZMA is helpful in preparing and initiating interdisciplinary research projects with mathematical aspects.
