"Dive into Research"

|   Aktuelle Meldungen

In September, a ‘Dive into Research’ event took place at the faculty of mathamatics as part of the priority program ‘Combinatorial Synergies.’ Fourteen bachelor’s and master’s students from Germany and across Europe were given a first introduction to the four research projects.

The following topics were covered:

  • Lattice Polytopes and Cyclic Sieving (led by Prof. Drew Armstrong)

  • Combinatorics in Representation Theory (led by Prof. Karin Baur)

  • Slicing Problems for Polytopes (led by Assistant Prof. Marie Brandenburg)

  • Matroid Invariants in Algebraic Combinatorics (led by Prof. Christian Stump)

During an intensive five weeks of research, each group developed new results, which were presented at a concluding symposium. We expect several research publications within the program in the coming months.
