|   Aktuelle Meldungen

Together with the team of principal developers of the mathematical software deal.II, Prof. Dr. Martin Kronbichler was awarded the SIAM/ACM Prize in Computational Science and Engineering.

The deal.II project is an open-source library that provides tools for solving partial differential equations in a broad range of applications based on the finite element method for use on everything from laptops to supercomputers. The award committee particularly emphasized the excellence of the algorithms, the software quality and the modularity.
The prize was awarded at the SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering CSE25 on March 3, 2025 in Forth Worth, Texas, USA.

The SIAM/ACM Prize in Computational Science and Engineering is awarded every two years by SIAM and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in the area of computational science to one individual or a group of individuals in recognition of outstanding contributions to the development and use of mathematical and computational tools and methods for the solution of science and engineering problems.
