In exciting lectures and workshops, they were able to learn about topics such as “Factoring with machines”, “Fibonacci numbers and continued fractions”, “Odds of winning the lottery”, “Irrational inequalities” and “Egyptian fractions and parquetization”. After lunch at the invitation of the Faculty of Mathematics, there was a math rally across the campus, the Chinese Garden and the Ruhr-Universität art collection with mathematical questions. The Math Day takes place annually as part of the digital Maths-AG of the Landesverband Mathematikwettbewerbe NRW e.V. (organization: Dr. Holger Reeker, holger.reeker(at)ruhr-uni-bochum.de).
