From summer 2021, the research network "Symplectic Structures in Geometry, Algebra and Dynamics" will be coordinated at RUB.

The speaker position of the Collaborative Research Center/Transregio (CRC/TRR) 191 has changed to RUB. Professor Dr. Kai Zehmisch from the Faculty of Mathematics is the new coordinator of the research network, which RUB applied for together with the University of Cologne. The CRC/TRR has been running since 2017 and is now in its second funding phase, with Heidelberg University having joined as a partner. The team researches symplectic structures in geometry, algebra and dynamics. Symplectic structures describe mathematical phenomena originating from classical mechanics and based on observations of dynamical systems. Mathematical tools developed from this perspective can be used for problem solving in other special fields. Further information on the contents of the Collaborative Research Center can be found in the newsportal.
